Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Department attend a volunteer project to improve the landscape along the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

 

On Wednesday 2rd October 2019, Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the launch of the volunteer project to improve the landscape along stretches of the Chao Phraya River or the Royal Barge Procession this month. The project was organized to commemorate the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on October 13 and the passing of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn on October 23.

 

The event took place at Santichaiprakarn Park and was attended by the President of the Supreme Court, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the President of the Senate, the President of Independent Organizations Under the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, cabinet ministers and their spouses, commanders of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, civil servants, community leaders and volunteers.

 

Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Department, Dr.Thongplew Kongjun  attend the activity at Santichaiprakarn Park, Pranakorn district, Bangkok. This activities consisting of clean up riverside areas along the procession route, trimmed trees and shrubs, collected garbage and repainted benches from Santichaiprakarn Park to Somdet Phra Pinklao Bridge covering a distance of 600 meters.
